Dog Flea and Tick Facts

Fleas

Flea infestation is one of the most annoying problems faced by you and your pet. It only takes a few fleas to start an infestation. Female fleas lay 40-50 eggs each day which drop off your pet and land around your home, where they can remain dormant for as long as six months. However, with the right temperature and humidity, the lifecycle can be as short as three weeks. Fortunately there's FRONTLINE PLUS®, the only product range of its kind that protects your dog and home against fleas.

FRONTLINE PLUS treatment contains the active ingredients fipronil and (S)-methoprene. Fipronil provides long acting control of the adult fleas on your pet. The addition of (S)-methoprene in FRONTLINE PLUS also kills all fleas stages in the pets surroundings... TOTAL FLEA CONTROL.

FRONTLINE PLUS works like no other flea treatment, even in the wet. It moves quickly through the oils on your pet's skin and collects naturally in the hair follicles and oil producing glands. From this reservoir, it is constantly reapplied to the hair and skin, giving you long-lasting flea control. FRONTLINE PlLUS is also safe to use on puppies from 8 weeks of age and for breeding, pregnant and nursing dogs.

Ticks

Paralysis Ticks (Ixodes holocyclus)

The paralysis tick (Ixodes holocyclus) is mainly found in the bush and coastal areas of Eastern Australia and can kill dogs and cats. Saliva injected when the tick feeds causes a progressive paralysis, which ultimately leads to respiratory failure and death.

FRONTLINE PLUS for dogs - for control of Paralysis Tick infestation for up to 2 weeks, apply the entire contents of one pipette as directed. Retreat at 2 weekly intervals during the paralysis tick season. While FRONTLINE PLUS provides control of Paralysis Ticks, use of the product does not guarantee prevention of tick paralysis because ticks are not killed immediately after attachment. Following application, daily searching of your dog for ticks must continue to minimise the risk of tick paralysis. See your vet for advice on searching techniques.

FRONTLINE® SPRAY - for control of Paralysis Tick infestation for up to 3 weeks apply FRONTLINE SPRAY at 6mL (4 spray pumps) per KG. Ensure the entire coat is thoroughly wet especially on and around the face, ears and neck. Retreat at 3 weekly intervals during the Paralysis tick season. . Following application, daily searching of your dog for ticks must continue to minimise the risk of tick paralysis. See your vet for advice on searching techniques.
